Laurel Beauty LLC ("SYREN," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, why we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and the rights and choices you have.

This policy applies to personal information we collect through www.syrenfragrances.com, through orders you place with us on third-party retail marketplaces, and through our customer service, email, and social media channels.

Our products and website are intended for residents of the United States. We do not offer our products or services to individuals outside the United States, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

1. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers. Name, billing and shipping address, email address, telephone number, and account or order number.

Commercial information. Products purchased or considered, order history, order value, returns and exchanges, and customer service records.

Payment information. Payment card type, last four digits, and billing address. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Payments are processed by our payment processors and, for marketplace orders, by the marketplace operator.

Internet and device activity. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and dates and times of visits, collected through cookies and similar technologies on our own website.

Marketing and communications data. Email subscription status, message open and click activity, product reviews you submit, and correspondence with us.

Inferences. Preferences and characteristics we infer from the above, such as fragrance categories you appear to prefer.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, or information about your health, religion, race, sexual orientation, or union membership. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

2. How we collect personal information

Directly from you — when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to emails, submit a product review, enter a promotion, or contact us.

Automatically — through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies when you visit www.syrenfragrances.com.

From third parties — from third-party retail marketplaces when you place an order with us there; from our e-commerce platform and payment processors; from shipping carriers; and from advertising and analytics providers.

3. Why we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Process, fulfill, ship, and track your orders, and handle returns, exchanges, and refunds
  • Communicate with you about orders, shipping, and customer service inquiries
  • Send marketing emails about products, launches, and promotions, where you have subscribed
  • Invite you to review products you have purchased
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and product assortment
  • Measure and improve the performance of our advertising, including advertising shown to you on other platforms
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and enforce our terms

4. When we share personal information

We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics technologies, described below, may be considered a "sale" or a "sharing" of personal information under California and certain other state privacy laws. You may opt out — see Section 7.

We share personal information in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We share personal information with vendors who perform services for us, and who are contractually limited to using it for those services. These include our e-commerce and email platform (Shopify), payment processors, shipping and logistics carriers, our product review provider (Judge.me), and customer support tools.

Retail marketplaces. When you order through a third-party retail marketplace, we receive and exchange order and delivery information with that marketplace so your order can be fulfilled and supported. The marketplace's own privacy policy governs the information you provide directly to them.

Advertising and analytics partners. We use advertising and analytics technologies from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google on our own website. These partners may receive information about your device and activity on our site and may use it to show you advertising on their platforms. This activity is considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and may be considered a "sale" or targeted advertising under other state laws. You may opt out — see Section 7.

Shopify Network Intelligence. Our e-commerce platform, Shopify, securely combines information about your interactions with our store with data from other Shopify merchants and from Shopify itself, in order to generate insights that help us protect, improve, and grow our business, including ad targeting and personalization. No other merchant can see your data. Shopify's processing of this information is described in Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/consumer-privacy-policy. This may be considered "sharing" or processing for targeted advertising under state privacy laws. You may opt out — see Section 7.

Legal and safety. We may disclose personal information where required by law, subpoena, or legal process; to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers or the public; or to investigate suspected fraud or violations of our terms.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Children's personal information

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@syrenfragrances.com.

6. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — including providing products and support, maintaining order and transaction records, and resolving disputes — and for as long as required by applicable tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. When personal information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or de-identify it.

Marketing contact information is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

7. Your rights and choices

Marketing emails. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us. You will still receive transactional messages about your orders.

Cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how our website functions.

Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and sharing. You may opt out of the use of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by emailing hello@syrenfragrances.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." We also honor opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), transmitted by your browser.

You may also opt out directly through our data sharing opt-out page at www.syrenfragrances.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out, and you may manage or withdraw consent for data processed by Shopify through Shopify's privacy portal at https://privacy.shopify.com.

You may additionally limit advertising through these third-party tools:

Do Not Track. Our website does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, which have no common industry standard. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as described above.

Access, correction, deletion, and portability. Subject to applicable law, you may request that we disclose the personal information we have collected about you, correct inaccurate personal information, delete your personal information, or provide it in a portable format.

How to make a request. Email hello@syrenfragrances.com with your request and enough information for us to locate your records — typically the name, email address, and order number used for your purchases. We will verify your identity before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Response times. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, and may extend by an additional 45 days where permitted, with notice to you.

No discrimination or retaliation. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your privacy rights.

8. How we protect personal information

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include encryption of data in transit using TLS, restricting access to personal information to personnel who need it to do their jobs, using reputable third-party platforms that maintain their own security programs and PCI-DSS compliance for payment processing, and reviewing our practices periodically.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. State law disclosures

California

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, provides you the rights described in Section 7, including the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

  • The categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it are described in Sections 1 through 4.
  • We disclose identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and inferences to service providers for business purposes.
  • We share identifiers and internet activity with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out as described in Section 7.
  • We do not sell personal information in exchange for money, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16.
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined under California law.

Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states

If you are a resident of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you may have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. Submit requests to hello@syrenfragrances.com.

Appeals. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing hello@syrenfragrances.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within 45 days. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date, and where required by law we will provide additional notice.
